It's about time I done another post and this one is all about some updates and timescales. I keep meaning to pop an update on here but then keep changing my mind as to what I'm doing so it doesn't happen. If you knew all the thoughts and plans that run through my head you'd be wondering why I've not been locked away! But we're now just two weeks away from me having a well needed and well deserved holiday so this really needs doing.
A holiday, I hear you say!
Yep. A whole week off. Well 8 days actually. No work. No day job. No TFD. Just relaxing. Sunshine. Recharging these batteries. Since my holiday last summer I haven't actually taken a full week off. Even when I had my shoulder surgery in May I was back working from the sofa the same afternoon.
What does this mean for ordering?!
Tuesday 17th September 2019 at 5pm is the cut off for all orders to be processed before I disappear for a week. Anything that comes in AFTER 5pm on that date will not be looked at until I return. I'm actually contemplating closing the website between 17th - 24th September to do some tweaks and updates and then re-open it when I go on holiday. I will keep you posted on that nearer the time. I'll be back on English turf on Wednesday 2nd October but not back home until late that day and therefore work won't commence until the 3rd. On the 2nd I will do my best to reply to all enquiries etc as I'll be travelling from Kent to Devon and being a passenger means I can work from my phone!
Can we still order when you're away?
Yes. The website will be open for orders whilst I am away. These will be on a slightly extended processing time of 10 to 14 working days (not including weekends). As above, I am contemplating closing the website between 17th - 24th September which is the week before I go away. This would enable me to do lots of tweaks and updates that are well needed. My supplier has discontinued a few items and I'm not keeping on top of what very well. So it would be really beneficial to spend some time making sure anything listed on my website is in fact available to order from one of my suppliers. I also desperately need to re-do all the images on the site so that they aren't hogging so much space and causing the website to run slower than I'd like.
New Ranges
When I am back, it will be time to launch some new ranges. This will be both on the website and Etsy. With us going into peak season I want to be as visible as I can be. Etsy will hopefully bring in a few extra sales. Now that I'm working TFD full time I have more capacity over the peak season to complete more orders than last year. I shall have a look at Royal Mail suggested posting dates and update when I have them as to when my order cut off will be.
Anything else?
I think that's all for now. I will see how the week goes as to whether I need to close the website between 17th - 24th. If I do, I will still be able to discuss and take orders via email and my Facebook page but these will still not be actioned until 3rd October when I am back working after the holiday.
